July 2024
Dear Members,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new President of LACBA Counsel for Justice (CFJ). I would like to extend my gratitude to Tim Yoo for his leadership and dedication over the past year. I am also deeply appreciative of our incredible staff, project directors, and volunteers, whose tireless efforts have been instrumental in advancing our mission.
CFJ envisions a Los Angeles in which every individual has access to the legal assistance they need, fostering an environment of equality, fairness, and opportunity for all. As the charitable arm of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, CFJ recruits, trains, and supports attorneys in providing pro bono legal services. Through our various projects, CFJ bridges the justice gap for people seeking safety, stability, and justice.
As the first non-lawyer President of CFJ, I am particularly aware of the vital role that lawyers and the legal community play in creating access to justice. Our projects are transformative, not only for our clients but also for the legal professionals who engage in pro bono work. These initiatives offer lawyers the chance to make a profound impact, fostering personal and professional growth while contributing to societal change.
In the year ahead, I am excited to collaborate with LACBA leadership and membership and the Los Angeles legal community to achieve our shared goals. Together, we can continue to build on CFJ's legacy, ensuring that our projects provide meaningful opportunities for involvement and make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
Warm regards,

Lana Manganiello
LACBA Counsel for Justice President
