The President’s Advisory Committee on Women in the Legal Profession is pleased to announce the 2024 Elizabeth L. Kenney Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. This year, the award goes to the Honorable Samantha P. Jessner, the Presiding Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, for her remarkable contributions to the legal field.

Judge Samantha P. Jessner has served as the Presiding Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to justice. Her dedication and service have made a significant impact on the legal community, inspiring many and paving the way for future generations of women lawyers.

An awards dinner honoring Jessner happens November 21, 2024, at the Hotel Indigo DTLA with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

About the Kenney Award

In 2019, the Los Angeles County Bar Association President’s Advisory Committee on Women in the Legal Profession established the Elizabeth Kenney LACBA Women Lawyers of Achievement Award. This award honors the accomplishments of women who have achieved outstanding recognition in their professional areas of expertise and have paved the way for the success of other women in the profession. It recognizes outstanding contributions as a lawyer, jurist, author, educator, administrator, public policy advocate, government or non-profit employee, elected or appointed official, bar leader, community leader, or in some other capacity.
