Many thanks to outgoing LACBA President Sarvenaz Bahar, whose leadership over the past year has been a testament to resilience and advocacy. Her term saw LACBA navigating challenges, with significant milestones achieved under her guidance.
One of the most notable efforts was during the tragic wildfires in January 2025. Sarvenaz launched an initiative to provide legal support to affected communities, establishing LACBA’s online library of free legal resources. This library includes live and recorded webinars, publications, and listings of legal clinics and volunteer opportunities. Sarvenaz's coordination brought together over 60 individuals and organizations from across the country, showcasing the power of collective action in times of crisis.
On May 1, 2025, during the National Law Day of Action, as part of LACBA’s noontime demonstration she delivered a powerful speech to Los Angeles attorneys and news media. Additionally, under her leadership, LACBA joined three amicus briefs in pending litigation supporting law firms targeted by executive orders and launched a listserv dedicated to the preservation of the rule of law.
Sarvenaz Bahar's term as LACBA President has left a lasting impact, setting a high standard for future leaders. Her ability to address pressing issues and promote solidarity within the legal community continues to inspire. As LACBA moves forward, it does so with the strength and inspiration drawn from Sarvenaz's leadership.
