Jeffrey Margulies, Partner-in-Charge at L.A’s Norton Rose Fulbright, is the incoming LACBA President. His 2025-2026 presidency begins on July 1.

During his tenure, Margulies will focus on building membership by introducing LACBA benefits to younger lawyers. He plans to enhance the association’s lawyer referral service to improve access to justice and introduce a program for voluntary mediators in eviction cases to help prevent homelessness. He also aims to continue partnering with bar associations nationwide to support courts and the legal profession.

“LACBA must remain vigilant in ensuring that the rule of law is respected, and we will continue to stand up for judges, lawyers, and law firms who are subjected to political attacks for doing their jobs,” stated Margulies.

Margulies is a long-time LACBA member who has held several association positions, including:

  • President-elect and Treasurer (since July 1, 2024)
  • Executive Committee Member (since 2022)
  • Trustee (since 2019)
  • Executive Committee Member of the Environmental Section (since 2006); Chair of the Executive Committee (2016-2017)
  • Finance Committee Member (since 2019)
  • Chair of the Audit Committee (2020-2022)

Margulies is also involved with the Environmental and Administrative Law sections of the American Bar Association. In 2025, he received recognition from the California Legal Awards by The Recorder. Additionally, he is a contributing author for the Consumer Products Law Blog.

Margulies’ practice focuses on litigation, compliance, and regulatory issues related to consumer products and the companies that manufacture, distribute, and sell them. He defends companies in consumer class action litigation involving false advertising, product compliance, and privacy issues. Margulies’ extensive litigation experience includes complex commercial, consumer, and personal injury litigation, with numerous federal and state jury and bench trials. He also maintains an active appellate practice, having authored over a dozen published appellate decisions.

Margulies earned his juris doctorate from Villanova University School of Law in 1986 and his BS in Psychology from Duke University in 1982. While in law school, he was a member of the Law Review and the Order of the Coif. He is admitted to practice law in California, the Northern, Central, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California, the Central District of Illinois, and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Ninth Circuits.
