The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) hosted a special Law Day program, “What Is the Rule of Law?”, on Friday, May 1, 2026, bringing together members of the legal community for a timely and thought-provoking discussion.
Held via Zoom, the program featured remarks from distinguished judicial leaders, including Hon. Dolly Gee, Chief District Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and Hon. Sergio C. Tapia, II, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, among others. Speakers addressed the importance of upholding the rule of law, particularly in today’s evolving legal and societal landscape, and emphasized the vital role attorneys play in protecting constitutional principles and ensuring access to justice.
The event provided attendees with valuable insights into the meaning and application of the rule of law, reinforcing its foundational importance to a fair and functioning democracy.
