On June 15, the Los Angeles Lawyer Editorial Board held its annual awards ceremony to honor editorial board and other LACBA members who have provided outstanding service to the magazine. 

This year the prestigious Sam Lipsman Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service, in honor of Los Angeles Lawyer's longtime publisher and editor, was presented to 2019-2020 Editorial Board Chair Tyna Orren. Also, the immediate past chair, Brianna Strange, was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Service. Finally, two certificates for Special Outstanding Service were awarded to, respectively, John Amberg, a partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP who has authored the annual "Ethics Roundup" column for the past 20 years, and Jerry Abeles, a past LAL board chair and Sam Lipsman awardee, (Jerry was unable to attend) for his collaboration as peer reviewer on "Ethics Roundup." (John is the first non-board member to receive an award for service to Los Angeles Lawyer.)

The LAL Editorial Board and staff wish to extend a special expression of gratitude to Board Member Amy Nashon and her firm, TroyGould in Century City, for co-hosting the event.
