Diane Trunk has returned to LACBA to serve as the deputy executive director for the association's nonprofit, Counsel for Justice (CFJ). She recently served as the directing attorney of the Domestic Violence Project where she grew the project by obtaining new grants and expanding the staff, creating a new on-line forms production model in partnership with the California Judicial Council, and designing and implementing a new case management system.
Trunk came to CFJ from Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice where, as Director of Program Development and Evaluation, she led various agency-wide initiatives such as implementation of a trauma-informed service model that has social workers as part of the legal team. Trunk also led the center’s participation in the California Shriver Civil-Gideon research project. Prior to LACLJ, Trunk was an attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County where she managed the Domestic Abuse Self Help (DASH) project, a partnership with the Los Angeles Superior Court.
In 2017, Trunk received the Betty Fisher Award from the L.A. County Board of Supervisors for her service to domestic violence survivors. She earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
