Summary

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The goal of this training is to provide immigration attorneys with a working knowledge of the public charge ground of inadmissibility, specifically as it relates to immigrants utilizing public benefits. Public benefits can be critical to immigrants maintaining their health and safety, and while consideration of public charge is important, the test does not apply to everyone applying for a green card and it does not apply to all public benefits. Attorneys will leave this training with a working knowledge of major benefits programs available to immigrants in Los Angeles County, and tools to determine when public charge is and isn't a reason to discourage use of a benefit.
