Privacy and Cybersecurity Section

The Privacy and Cybersecurity Section is one of LACBA’s newest and fastest-growing communities, founded in 2019 to serve lawyers and professionals practicing in this rapidly developing field. California has long been at the forefront of privacy and cybersecurity law, and Los Angeles is home to leading practitioners, cybercrime prosecutors, law enforcement experts, and in-house counsel who address these issues daily.

The Section provides a forum for education, networking, and collaboration among attorneys, law students, and professionals working in or adjacent to privacy, data security, and cybersecurity.

We provide a home for lawyers and legal professionals working in data privacy and cybersecurity, creating opportunities to learn, connect, and lead in one of the most important areas of modern legal practice. The Section also serves as a source of expertise for attorneys, government agencies, and the media on developments in privacy and cybersecurity law, regulation, and policy.

What We Offer

Quarterly Programming – CLE programs addressing:
- Cybercrimes and national security concerns
- The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
