LACBA’s Remedies Section is dedicated to the attorneys who ensure that a client’s courtroom victory translates into real-world results. Securing and collecting judgments are two of the most critical aspects of civil litigation, and the Remedies Section provides the education, resources, and community practitioners need to succeed.
We focus on the practical tools of litigation—writs of attachment, writs of possession, receiverships, injunctions, foreclosures, UCC liens, and post-judgment collections. The Remedies Section helps attorneys master the laws, rules, and strategies that turn a favorable judgment into meaningful relief for their clients.
Remedies Section Purposes:
- Educate the Bar, students, financial institutions, and the public by encouraging the preparation and presentation of viewpoints on legal issues relating to the enforcement and protection of the rights of debtors, creditors, and others affected by prejudgment or post judgment relief in the state and county.
- Act as a source of expertise for other attorneys, government bodies, and the news media on issues regarding prejudgment and post judgment remedies.
- Serve as a forum for the consideration of public policies dealing with or regarding prejudgment or post judgment remedies.
